Why would I buy that for $80k when I could buy an old stock car set up for road courses for $30k off of Racing Junk?

I see your point. My opinion is with the same engine, the Riley would dust a stock car on a road race circuit. The Riley is a mid engine, 6 speed transmission, and is designed for downforce. I think it’s a different beast.
I guess the question is, could you build/buy a more capable road race, having full enclosure chassis suitable for 600 hp for less than a $100k that would run better than this car on a road racing course. I don’t know.....

I guess being able to get two up on the curb to change direction, then just point and squirt to make open lapping like shooting fish in a solo cup appears to be more appealing to me. Something about using a sledgehammer when you should probably be using an x-acto knife.
